Alpiq attends "Power Days" for second time

Intensive and heated discussions were the order of the day when 139 national and international exhibitors representing the electricity sector got together at the "Power Days" trade fair, held at the Messe Zürich between 3 and 5 June 2008.

Record visitor numbers at Energy Industry Show

Among the exhibitors and participating for the second time was Alpiq's Market Switzerland unit. The exhibition offers an ideal platform for fostering relations with potential and existing customers, all of whom received a personal invitation from the unit.

2,055 trade visitors attended the "Power Days": a new record. In addition to the exhibitors' stands, daily forums attracted keen interest. Subjects included electricity transmission, distribution and procurement as well as energy security and production. The main theme at this year's show was the liberalisation of the electricity market, and the question of how this would impact energy pricing policy was hotly debated.

The "Power Days" trade fair is organised every two years by Swiss Exhibition in collaboration with the Power Engineering Society (ETG) of Electrosuisse, the Swiss Association for Water Management (SWV), the Association of Swiss Electricity Enterprises (VSE) and the Swiss Technology Network (swissT.net). Exhibitors' offerings focused on energy production, energy transmission and distribution, electricity trading and distribution, instrumentation and control technology (I&C), grid and line construction, energy management, metered data management, as well as universities and research. The next "Power Days" will be held from 1 to 3 June 2010.
